Nursery

Our small one acre site just outside Wimborne in Dorset is located on the land backing onto our house. We now estimate to have over 100 different species of fern in the fernery, some of these rather unusual. However not all our ferns can tolerate the conditions of the South coast of England, consequently we have a number of ferns over wintering under glass and in polytunnels. Unfortunately our nursery is not currently open to the public, in the future we will be looking to relocate to a more suitable site for visitor access.

Propagation at the nursery is done from mainly from spore reproduction, collected during July-September. Although micro division is a faster way of cultivating ferns, the scientific equipment required to do this is very costly!
